• At PWA, our physicians schedule weekly rounds “tailored” to your facility. We provide a detailed EMR documentation which conforms to regulatory guidelines and includes a comprehensive evaluation of patient history, physical exam, assessment of metabolic, nutritional, and vascular comorbidities that may increase the risk of wound formation and outcomes.
  • PWA’s physicians perform Doppler scans on all lower extremity wounds that have evidence of ischemic disease. This procedure will help us define the correct etiology and ensure the appropriate course of treatment.
  • When properly indicated our physicians will perform surgical bedside procedures to remove necrotic and infected tissue which will optimize a proper healing environment and stimulate growth factors to improve healing rates.
  • Our physicians work closely with treatment nurses, primary care physicians, and the patient’s family to optimize medical care and to ensure that all parties concerned have a clear understanding of our treatment plan.
  • At PWA we encourage your staff’s involvement during rounds. We believe that teamwork and constant communication will lead to superior outcomes and a “resident oriented program” focused on “quality of care” and “quality of life.”
  • Physician Wound Associates provides these services at no cost to your facility or the patient. Our physician services are billed through “specialist codes” a service category which is exempt from consolidated billing. PWA bills third party payers exclusively (Government, HMO’s and private insurances).
